Christmas 2007
December 11, 2007

Pastor Ralph Green

Thoughts about Christmas apparently run a huge gamut, especially in these days of political correctness. Oh, for the days when parents only worried that the children might discover the truth about Santa, the cost of all those obligations, and moving the children from the earthly to the heavenly in a worship service.

I read thru the internet an email from Jesus??? He? basically said, no big deal, about all the naysayers. There are many that call themselves Christians who believe that faith should be kept a private thing. I really wonder about those folks. So refreshing to read those Jewish folks like Ben Stein who support the rights of all to express themselves in relation to their particular holidays. He is not offended. Seems the real whiners are those immoral folks that because of their moral position deny that there is anyone out there to hold them accountable. The hilarity of this situation is that if they really believed there was no god they would just look at us with a quiet smirk on their faces at our foolishness.

Being a very small church we discover there are things that just do not work for us. A dear friend that had lived locally in the past was going to be in the area on Christmas Eve and asked about attending our service. I had to tell her that the only Christmas service we will have is on December 23rd, at 10:30AM. It consists of our members selecting their own ways to express worship thru recitation and song. It is the one service where the Pastor likes to sit quietly and watch others. It has worked well for us these many years. It is a service for which we have many comments return for some time after the event.

It is our goal:

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year
