In a day when "church" is being done in every different manner, seemingly to draw the greatest number of folks, there needs to be a look for that which is consistent.

The pursuit of purpose for the activities operating in congregations needs to be inspected with the idea of how this glorifies God. I Cor 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Basic motivations need to be brought to the light of day. The congregation needs to decide whether it is the person as part of the congregation who advances the size and ability of the congregation is premier or whether the adulation of God is primary in all activities and presentations.

Something so difficult as the definition of "worship" needs much attention. It appears so simple to confess a definition. What is observed often belies the professed definition. The activity of worship becomes regulated by the quality of the presenter, be it in music or proclamation.

Introspection by each participant needs to be demanded, pursuit for a consistent pattern needs to be taught in the midst of all the various styles of worship and regular return of seeking to attain to the knowledge of Christ needs to be established as the immediate goal of every event.

A literal meaning of worship being, "a bowing before or a kissing toward" should be presented as the qualifier as to whether worship in any congregation is occurring. Questions addressed would have to do with spiritual maturity taking place in the lives of the participants. Repentance should be taking place wherein people would be recognizing in their lives things disappointing to God and these same being confessed and discarded.

King David repented and yet said that his sin was ever before him. This shows that a guard be set in place that would prevent the very natural return to those activities.

Intellectual and emotional advances have their place in worship, yet neither should be seen as the bellwether for determining validity.

Finally, John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth., states that this is a primary pursuit of God. In many places all that is heard is that God is here to bless and enrich you which produces a greedy self serving people who look only to God as their personal errand boy delivering all to them that their heart should desire whether it agrees with the plan of God for our lives or no.

Have you responded to the fact that God is looking for you to come worship Him in spirit and in truth.
